The Engineer's Key is an item in Shadow Man. It's found in the Asylum Gateway and is required to progress through this and all of the following Asylum levels.
Usage examples are:
-locked doors
-the train in the Cageways
-the piston consoles in the Engine Block
In order to work an Engineer's Key receptacle, equip the key and use the action button. When the blue light on the receptacle is lit up you'll never have to use the key again. If the light flickers and fades out then you can use it as many times as you need to for moving a platform from left to right etc.
